Our Mission & Guiding Values

Our Purpose

Help the land heal from past agricultural practices, become a place of learning for others, and set an example for our fellow farmers while creating abundance for our community in an environmentally ethical manner.

Our Vision

Create a thriving, diverse farm that serves as a model for regenerative agriculture, inspiring others to join the fight against soil degradation & climate change.

Our Mission

Implement regenerative farming practices that support our community and planet by enhancing soil health, producing safe nutritious food, encouraging biodiversity and wildlife habitat. We are committed to raising food supply awareness and advocating for regenerative agriculture in our region.

Our Guiding Values & Principles

We believe that all life has the right to a healthy environment.  That it is the duty of farmers and land stewards to do everything in our power to undo the damage done by their predecessors while providing their communities with healthy organic food and working to restore damaged ecosystems. This fundamental belief is the primary force behind every decision we make. At this farm, the needs of the land take priority over profit. We will never use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified organisms. Every management decision is made with these ten core values in mind:

  1. Soil Health – Soil supports all life on this planet. As such, its health is of the utmost importance. Using regenerative techniques like mulching, cover cropping, composting, and rotational cropping & grazing, we can build and maintain healthy soils and thriving ecosystems.
  2. Biodiversity – Enhanced biodiversity creates resilient ecosystems, reduces pest and disease pressure on crops, and helps to build soil health. We avoid monocropping and over-mowing.
  3. Water Conservation – Measures are taken to keep water on the land for as long as possible using rain catchment systems, ponds, grey water infiltrators, planting on contour, and maintaining buffer zones to slow and filter runoff to protect the watershed.
  4. Animal Welfare – We do everything we can to make sure our animals are happy, healthy, and able to express their natural behaviors.
  5. Fairness – People deserve to be fairly compensated for the work that they do, be safe while they are doing it, and feel valued by their community. We do not treat our fellow humans poorly.
  6. Carbon Sequestration – Getting as much carbon as we can out of the atmosphere and into the soil before we all cook to death is an urgent matter.
  7. Local Economy Support – We buy and sell everything we can locally, and engage with the community and our fellow producers as much as possible.
  8. Long-term Sustainability – Decisions are made with future generations in mind. We design systems to last and have minimal environmental impact.
  9. Ecological Balance – Striking a balance between agricultural activities and natural ecosystems is important. We always consider how our activity impacts natural systems and do what we can to encourage wildlife to thrive on our farm.
  10. Continuous Learning & Adaptation - Every season is a learning experience. Being willing and able to learn from nature and adapt to dynamic challenges is crucial to a farm’s success. Staying up to date on regenerative practices and technologies not only helps you improve the land faster and produce healthier food, it also keeps you competitive in the market.
